What is the situation of Physical Education in Europe?At the Board meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania, EUPEA organized a seminar to present the state of Physical Education in several European countries.
EUPEA has been involved in several projects relating to Physical Education, Physical Activity and Sport. In each, EUPEA tries to defend the importance of PE and to increase the physical activity of young people. Different methods are used to achieve the aims through links with schools, sport associations and Cities.
Final year student primary teachers from three Universities were invited to attend the annual student teacher IPPEA workshop on 22 October 2018. This year Maynooth University hosted the event organised by Tony Sweeney and Susan Marron, IPPEA committee. The Czech PE Teacher Association (Česká společnost učitelů TV – ČSUTV) was officially registered in September 2018. Official web available on https://www.csutv.cz/. The first president is associate professor Jana Vašíčková from Palacky University. The association has started to fulfil its tasks. Embark of new members recruitment and communication with partners. ČSUTV has become a partner of the National Report on Physical Activity of children and youth in the Czech Republic (2018). The report conducted by the researches from Palacky University in Olomouc will be published soon. International conferences and meetings planed for the first half of 2019: - First announcement for the 4th symposium CEREPS in Prague, the Czech Republic was communicated. The term – 30.6. – 3.7. 2019. The organizer - Prof. Dr. Ludmila Fialová, Charles University, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport in Prague. - International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA) organizes an international conference. Organisation of symposia on the importance of PE
Investigate the situation of PE in the different member countries
Urging the ministers of education to pay more attention to PE in the school curriculum, at a regular basis
Urging the different countries to inform each other on the state of the PE
defend the presence of Physical Education within the curriculum through a continuously adjusted and actualized Argumentation
raise the presence of Physical Education, expressed in a number of hours, to minimum 1 hour a day, through promotion campaigns
Defend the position of Physical Education in all countries of Europe
Enforce the argumentation by exchanging experiences, knowledge, scientific research, observatories, etc.
